Being part of the solution 1

yesterday i felt a little regret not listening to somebody’s advice on a product. but suddenly i thought, sometimes these mistakes just have to happen.

have you ever been in such a situation? a situation in which, you feel regret for not following somebody’s advice?

and because i felt that way, now, if somebody else is going to make the same ‘mistake’, surely i would advice that person against such a decision, right?

but-

1)the best ‘advice’ is still an opinion based on one or two or even millions of cases, which still might NOT work for a person. why? because Allah made us all different.

let me share with you something i learnt about breastpumps-

at first most of my friends who work outside the home told me that

1)manual pumps are better than electric ones
2)expensive ones are better than cheap ones (this does not apply to everything, this only applies here because in order for milk to come out, the pump needs to ‘imitate’ a baby’s sucking motion! now, how do you create such a machine? do you think it’s easy?)

but after comparing two brands of “expensive” manual breastpumps  (based on reviews on the internet), i realized that there’s only one answer:

it depends. you don’t know if it will work until you try it.
(this principle DOES NOT, i repeat, DOES NOT apply with Allah’s precautions against the things He forbids.)

but when i “investigate” further into mommy forums, i discover that there seems to be a lot of mommies out there who advocate using electric double-pumps.

and one day…

i meet a mommy who breastfed (and is breastfeeding still) all her 7 children and she says: the best breastpump is your hand!!!

now what?

do i throw out my ‘expensive manual breastpump’?

=)

no…

but i learn that “that’s life on earth”. every person is an individual. but the beautiful thing about all our differences and preferences and what not, is that

1)no matter how differently we do things, all that we do must be within what Allah allows and must not transgress what Allah forbids

2)no matter how differently we do things and how different we are from one another, we all came from Allah and will return only to Allah. we are all binded together in one huge group: servants of Allah.
